Tree Planting in JD

Please join Amy and the JD volunteers on Tuesday 6/25 at 8:00 am to plant cypress trees along a stormwater pond in the northern part of JD. This is a part of JD where we don’t have trails, so it will be new and exciting territory! You will need to bring your own pointy shovels (home gardening size), gloves and snacks. The park will supply water. Pelican Island Audubon in Vero Beach is supplying the plants. The more people we supply, the more plants they will provide. The soil should be moist and sandy so it should be easy digging. There is about 4,000 feet of shoreline, so some walking will be required.

Parking is limited, so we will have to carpool. At this time, lets say we meet at the front parking area. As I get more details, I will notify you of changes. When you sign up, text me your phone number so I can contact you. My phone is 561-289-5551.

You must wear closed toed shoes, wide brimmed hat or something for sun protection is also advised.

All volunteers will enter the park for free. No fee will be required for volunteers.

This is a GREAT event for kids out of school who need community service hours!
