JD Park Green Loop to Hobe Sound Beach 12 Miles

Public/Strenuous. 12+ Miles. Quick Pace. Sugar Sand. Road Walk.

**THIS IS A DIFFICULT HIKE WITH SUGAR SAND, A ROAD WALK AND LOTS OF SUN AND WE WILL BE MOVING FAST! Do not sign up for this hike if you are not regularly hiking 10+ miles.**

Let’s do the start of the OTLHT. We will start promptly at 8:00 at the parking lot next to the guard shack at the entrance to Jonathan Dickinson Park. We will hike the Green trail north, then cross over US 1 and continue on the OTL to Hobe Sound Beach. We will have a bit of a road walk but the portion over the river to the beach is amazing! Once we hit the beach, there is a pavilion there where we can have lunch. We don’t do many hikes where you can have lunch on the beach. We will then return on the OTL and finish the Green trail, arriving back at the original parking lot.

Meet outside the gate at JD Park at 7:45 AM. We can do the sign in there. The address is: 16450 SE Federal Hwy, Hobe Sound, FL 33455.

I’m looking for a volunteer to man the pavilion with water and refreshments for resupply, they will need to arrive there around 10:30 AM. Perhaps this person can also shuttle people back to JD if they feel they cannot make it back. Alternatively, when we did this hike several years ago and several people Ubered back to JD.

While there will be sugar sand, this should be a dry hike with no standing water.
