DUPUIS WILDLIFE & ENVIRONMENTAL AREA – 13 miles

January 11 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

PUBLIC/STRENUOUS – Fast Paced – 13 miles

As most of you know, Dupuis is a 21,875 acre multi-use natural area in northwest Palm Beach County. The property is interspersed with numerous ponds, wet prairies, cypress domes, pine flatwoods and remnant Everglades marsh.
We plan on driving in from gate 1 on a dirt for about 6 miles to CYRPESS BOARDWALK . From there, we will hike in on an access road about 1 mile to loop 4 and then on toward Powerline Camp, turning around about 6.5 miles in for a total of 13 miles. It’s a beautiful section, but expect to get your feet wet!! Water makes a hike much more difficult, so if you aren’t capable of handling the distance AND the water AND the pace, please wait for a less challenging hike. Parking is limited, so please carpool if possible (you can park cars at gate 1 entrance to carpool)..
You MUST bring four 16oz waters…..a snack, hat, insect repellant also advisable.
