Ancient Symbols, Modern Guides lecture presented by Rick McBride, mixed blood Cherokee, $20 tuition fee.
In this lecture, we will consider a number of ancient symbols left behind by the ancestors of this land. The purpose of this exploration is to tap into the deeper meanings of petroglyphs, geoglyphs, story hides, totem art etc. in order to expand our connection not only to the spirit world but also with the Earth Mother through ceremony. These can be traditional ceremonies or personal ceremonies you create for yourself. There will be discussion of how ritual, then ceremony evolved through the use of glyphs. If you have or intend to create Medicine Shields, paint your hand drum, or otherwise honor these artifacts in respectful ways, this talk will be of particular interest to you.
