Booth assistants needed at Firefest in Jonathan Dickinson State Park

Firefest 2023 is being held on Saturday October 21 at the Kimbell Education Center in Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The Loxahatchee Chapter of the FTA will have a booth. Volunteers will be asked to introduce participants to our group and hiking in Florida. we will have brochures to hand out as well as a couple of games for all ages.
I am looking for volunteers to help set up from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm, staff the booth from 1 pm until 6:00 pm and disassemble from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. If you are available and want to help out, please sign up and indicate the hours you can volunteer. I will provide a schedule and entrance pass to all volunteers before the event.

I am asking volunteers to bring a bag of individually wrapped hard candies or trinkets to hand out. NO CHOCOLATE PLEASE.

Please wear an FTA t-shirt and/or hike outfit, bring a chair and drinks/snacks for yourself. There will be food and drink available to purchase at this event.

ABOUT THE EVENT: Firefest is a community event to celebrate Florida’s relationship with fire. Learn about the importance of prescribed burns, fire safety awareness, and how important fire truly is to our local wildlife and community. Join in for a day of live fire demos, fire truck demos, hayrides*, swamp buggy rides*, bounce houses*, pumpkin patch*, ghost tours, presentations from Park Staff, Wildlife Rehabilitation Centers, live music, food* and drinks* and more!!
