Looking to get out and enjoy a weekend of camping after Thanksgiving? Want to help give back to the trails you love to hike? Thursday afternoon we will be setting up camp and enjoying a nice campfire.
Trail maintenance begins Friday morning at 8am. We will meet at gate 1 to start our day. Saturday and Sunday we will also start at 8am at gate 1. We usually mow, clip and blaze between 5 – 6 miles a day. We are usually finished around 2pm. The campground has a bathhouse with showers and flushing toilets. You can bring a tent or a camper. The site do not have water or electricity but they are Free. You do need to go on the SFWMD website and reserve a campsite. If you need help, contact me.
Bring your tent or camper, food for the weekend, a bundle of wood, bug spray, sunscreen and plenty to drink. We will have a campfire each evening if you want to bring food to cook on the fire. If you want charcoal to cook your food, bring it.
If you don’t want to camp, you can come for the day. I will also post each day separately to sign up.
