Earth Day Celebration at Okeeheelee Park

This is not a group event but there’s nothing to stop you from meeting up with some friends and enjoying the day! Come celebrate Earth Day at Okeeheelee Park Nature Center. Stop by and say hello to Paul and Ruth at our FTA table set up for the event.

A number of environmental groups and nonprofit organizations, like us, will have exhibits. Naturalists will lead butterfly and bird walks. This year’s lineup is not yet available but last year you could watch wildlife presentations, get a close-up view of a composting display and an owl pellet dissection. There were also special appearances by costumed characters; the Muck Monster of Lake Worth Lagoon, Oakly the Squirrel and the owl-like Professor Screech as well as the PBSO Therapy Dog Unit and Mounted Unit.

There will also be food vendors!
