Jonathan Dickinson – Kitching Creek Camp
November 4th-5th (Saturday-Sunday)
Arrival 1:30 PM
Hike Begins 2:00 PL
Public/ Strenuous
Activity Leaders: Ryan Lusk, Richard Zinter
Miles per day about 3. Total of about 6 miles.

Let’s start the backpacking season off right with an oldie but goodie. Jonathan Dickinson State Park at our favorite campsite Kitching Creek.
This a GROUP event. We as FTA Activity Leaders feel a certain level of responsibility for the ENTIRE Group. We will hike as a group for this event. This is an intro level backpacking event. Our hope is to allow you to test your gear and learn from us on the basics of backpacking. If you have any questions, please contact us beforehand so we can assist you.

The hike will begin at 1:30 PM Saturday November 4th and will end as we exit on Sunday the 5th. For all who sign up everyone should expect to arrive at the Kitching Creek Parking lot in back of JD. There is a small fee for the campsite reservations. It is $10 per person. There is no entry fee into the park, just the campsite fee and wood drop.
Both days total miles will be about 6 miles. 3 miles per day. You may want to test yourself before coming to a trip like this with a backpack loaded with gear. Hiking with a backpack/ gear is very different than a stroll through a park.
We usually find a restaurant to eat at after the trip on Sunday. I will come up with some options but feel free to put some options on the table.
There is NO water drop for this location. You will need to filter water.
Any donations would be appreciated.
