May 28 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

**Looking for a challenge?**

Join Amy for a ruck/hike event, where you’ll challenge yourself with a weighted backpack, build strength and endurance, and enjoy the great outdoors while making new friends!

We meet at 7:00am at the Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area Parking Lot

**(GPS 26.8524, -80.2152).**

**Packs on and moving no later than 7:10am. Please be prompt.**

For this one, half of our hike will be on the roads (rucking) for the other half, we will hike on the OTLHT. While on the roads, we will be moving at a brisk pace of at least 3 MPH which is a 20 minute mile. If you are unwilling or unable to hike at least 20 minute miles, this event is not for you.

The ruck/hike will be 6 – 8 miles. A weighted back pack is not necessary, but you need to bring something to drink and a snack.

**What the heck is rucking?**

Rucking is a form of physical exercise that involves walking or hiking with a weighted backpack (rucksack). It is derived from military training, where soldiers often carry heavy packs for long distances. The term “ruck” is short for “rucksack,” which is a type of backpack.

Rucking is a full-body workout that builds strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. It is an effective way to increase calorie burn, develop functional strength, and improve posture. Rucking can be done by individuals of varying fitness levels and can be modified to suit specific training goals or needs. IE, start light and work your way up to a heavier load.
