Volunteer Work Party aka Trail Maintenance

Okay, we are not going to actually work at Publix! We will just meet here in this parking lot. We will then drive out to where we can access the C18 canal bank and drive to the entrance of the Luckey Tract portion of the Loxahatchee slough. We will clip and blaze Lox Slough north to the pedestrian bridge and back. It shouldn’t be a long day; probably done by noon.

We will be leaving the parking lot at 8 so don’t be late or you will miss us. Also we drive through locked gates so plan to stay until the group is finished as you won’t be able to get out as the gates are locked after we drive in.

Expect to be working in water which means your feet will get wet! Wear closed toe shoes, long pants, long sleeve shirt, and gloves. If you have a clipping tool bring it but we have some extra tools and gloves if you don’t. As always bring plenty to drink and a snack.

The photo was taken on the same date in 2019. This is a beautiful section and is definitely worth getting wet feet, it is fun!
