DESCRIPTION:The City of West Palm Beach invites the public to attend the opening day of the West Palm Beach GreenMarket’s 30th season on Saturday\, October 5\, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The famed market\, named the “Best Farmers Market” in the U.S. by USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice for three years in a row (in 2021\, 2022 and 2023)\, will open as the largest market in its history with 130+ vendors. Vendors will sell various products\, including fresh fruits and vegetables\, coffees and teas\, flowers and plants\, homemade specialty items\, desserts and treats\, and so much more. \nOf note\, opening day will include a special ceremony with City of West Palm Beach leadership to celebrate the start of the season (around 9:45 a.m.). \nWest Palm Beach GreenMarket takes place every Saturday > October 5\, 2024 through April 19\, 2025 (except on March 22\, 2025\, due to the Palm Beach International Boat Show) \nThe West Palm Beach GreenMarket’s mission is to provide the community with seasonal access to locally grown fresh fruits\, vegetables\, plants\, and agricultural products. The market supports the southeast Florida agricultural community and stimulates agricultural development\, particularly in Palm Beach County\, by providing an outlet for locally grown crops and specialty products. \nDuring the GreenMarket\, parking is available in the City public garages: Clematis\, Banyan\, City Center\, Sapodilla\, and Evernia. The Banyan and Evernia garages are closest to the event and are subject to the City’s all-day weekend flat rate of $5. The City Center\, Clematis\, and Sapodilla garages will be free during market hours\, with current parking rates in effect afterward. Those interested in arriving by boat can also take advantage of the City’s free public docks. The Clematis Street Dock is the closest dock to the market. \nReturn of the West Palm Beach GreenMarket Master Chef Showcase — Hot off the success of the first year-long GreenMarket chef competition\, the City of West Palm Beach is bringing back the heat with the return of the City’s GreenMarket Master Chef Showcase. The bracket-style competition will feature two chefs going head-to-head to advance to the next round. \nNEW THIS SEASON: A limited number of VIP tickets will be sold to sample the final dishes. The Master Chef Showcase is free to observe on the second Saturday of each month. The final Chef Showcase to crown the second annual winner will be in April. SUMMARY:South Florida’s Kids Got Talent 2024 Auditions
DESCRIPTION:Tri-Rail\, South Florida’s premier commuter rail system\, invites talented young singers\, ages 5 to 17\, to audition for the annual “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” competition\, to be held at the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) (401 SW 2nd Street\, Fort Lauderdale). Auditions will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday\, November 23\, offering participants from Miami-Dade\, Broward\, and Palm Beach counties the chance to showcase their vocal abilities and compete for a spot in the 2025 final event. \nTri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent” competition has become a signature event\, uniting children and families across the region. All performers aged 5 to 17 that reside in South Florida are invited to audition. Each act will have up to four minutes to perform in front of a panel of judges who will select the finalists for the main competition in February 2025\, during Tri-Rail’s 16th annual “Rail Fun Day\,” presented by Herzog. Judges will score based on vocal range\, stage presence\, and style. \nOver the years\, “Rail Fun Day” has grown into a beloved community event in Dania Beach\, featuring interactive activities\, food trucks\, cookie decorating\, face painting\, and more. Last year’s event saw ten-year-old Samantha Schmerling take home the grand prize with her vocal performance\, earning her $500\, a one-year contract inclusive of a photo shoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent\, and a professional studio recording session with MikeSoperMusic. \nTo secure an audition slot\, participants must register on or before Tuesday\, November 19.
